EQUINE THERAPY

WHAT DO WE DO ?

We collaborate with the DALUZ Vivencias Equinas programs, an Equestrian Therapeutic Center whose objective is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, through horses.

HOW ?

In conjunction with DALUZ we organize the experience of volunteers, who come to discover what equine therapy is, bringing essential help in therapies as well as on the farm. Horse therapies need many hands (puller, class assistants, instructor) so volunteers are first trained so that they can be part of this great program, sharing with their teachers, instructors and users.

WHERE ?

The DALUZ foundation has its center near the capital of Costa Rica, in San Rafael de Alajuela, in the central part of the country.

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?

1. As a class assistant: To be a class assistant it is necessary to have previous training provided by certified DALUZ instructors.

2. Taking care of horses: General horse care, feeding, cleaning, preparation for therapy or class, veterinary care.

3. Caring for farm animals: General care, feeding, cleaning...

4. Helping in the administrative area: Public relations, event management and organization, staff recruitment, support in taking videos and photos.

5. Support in special activities, summer camps, Special Olympics, parties and others.
